Datasym Helps save money by consolidating Princess Royal and Royal Shrewsbury Hospitals into a Single System

Datasym has recently completed a successful merger of the Princess Royal Hospital Telford and Shrewsbury Hospitals Menumark systems into a single Microsoft SQL database running Menumark SQL.

Chris Fisher, Site Services Manager, wanted to link both Menumark systems together to allow them to standardise on menus and ingredient files across the two hospitals. This has also allowed Chris to standardise suppliers between hospitals and he believes the savings obtained by this exercise has saved the trust in the region of £50,000.

The system comprises 8 EPOS terminals (4 in each hospital) and menu analysis performed via canon optical mark readers. Sales from the EPOS terminals will be viewable in realtime allowing complete control of the restaurant at all times with live up to the second GP information. Menumark SQL allows for every user to be given specific security roles and have locations assigned to them. This ensures that users from one site are not confused by seeing wards and departments from another and also restricts the ability to run reports for other sites if you do not have permission to do so.

If you would like to know more about how Menumark SQL can save your trust money by combining systems into a single database or you would simply like information on how Menumark SQL can help you to control costs within your site, please contact Elliott Perry our Menumark Account Manager and he will be pleased to assist you.
