Datasym enjoyed another exciting and successful visit to the HCA Conference
It is always exciting to meet with our existing clients and discuss our solution with potential new NHS clients at the annual HCA Conference. This year was no exception but came with the added excitement of the official launch of our Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) patient meal ordering solution where Datasym is pleased to partner with WiFi SPARK.
BYOD gained a lot of interest and was able to be demonstrated on delegates own smartphones on our stand during the trade stand walk arounds. BYOD represents the perfect solution for both patients and the NHS. Patients can use there own familiar tablets and smartphones to order what they would like to eat (with the ability to make alterations at any time should they change there mind) and the NHS doesn’t need to invest in hardware to be used on the wards for patient meal collation. BYOD comes with all the benefits of Datasym’s successful iOS based Menumate solution but with added convenience and benefits.
In addition to BYOD, Datasym was also able to demonstrate our interface to Preoday. Preoday provides both Android and iOS native applications as well as a website for taking dining room orders. Preoday interfaces directly with Datasym’s POS terminals (as used by Costa Coffee via our reseller WRS) to accept pre orders for specific dates and times, taking payment upfront via online payments taken within the app driven by the EFT solution Stripe. With payment already taken, the orders are passed to Datasym’s delivery collection module running on the POS and kitchen prints are provided within the kitchen to indicate what has been ordered and for when. This is the perfect solution to ensure that restaurant sales stay within the hospital rather than losing customers to nearby outside alternatives.
