Toshiba and Datasym Link E-commerce to Point of Sale

Toshiba is helping retailers to boost sales by enabling them to link their web store into their existing EPOS solution.

The company has partnered with Datasym to launch E-Store an integrated e-commerce solution. E-Store is a complete solution featuring quality POS hardware from Toshiba and Datasym’s POS, which deals with a retailers web trading.

Chris Jones, Operations Direc tor at Datasym, explains, “Our concept was to provide a fixed cost, affordable solution that would provide a professional looking web presence, together with easy, simultaneous administration of both web and retail product databases.”

E-Store is the ideal solution for retailers using two systems, which can result in difficulties as they require two separate stock pools: one for the retail outlet and one for the webstore. Similarly, should a retailer opt for just one stock pool they may then experience out-of-stock issues, additional administration duties and time spent consolidating the information from two systems.

Customers using E-Store can expect all the standards components such as best sellers, RRP prices and shopping cart, as well as sales and stock figures which are updated in real-time, allowing retailers’ complete visibility of trading. The online payments are handled by PayPal, Worldpay or Protx.

Chris Jones comments: “There is no limit to the number of products or the different permu tations of those products. There is even the ability to have additional products or different prices on E-Store to those sold in-store, all managed by the one system.

The Toshiba/Datasym partnership ensures customers receive complete reliability and consistency, and because both manufacturers are committed to continually developing their systems to include new features and functionality, E-Store can be easily upgraded with no disruption or costly hardware upgrades.
