Queens Hospital Implements Menu Scanning

Queens Hospital, Burton Upon Trent has implemented meal collation via optically read menus.

As part of the phase 3 implementation of Menumark SQL within Queens Hospital, the catering department now processes menu cards that have been completed by the patients and returned to the catering department. The cards are loaded into a hopper fed optical scanner and the counts are automatically collated with Menumark displaying any anomalies it finds with any incorrectly completed cards. The cards are specially marked with identifiers to determine whether they are standard, diet or maybe cards for a specific ward e.g. childrens. This allows Menumark SQL to switch between menus and the ability to read mixed menus in one pass (e.g. standard and diet cards together).
